About us.
Gerry Schaffer is a lifelong resident of Waterloo Region. Gerry and his wife, Dee, raised their four children in this community. Gerry began his law practice in 1982 after graduating from Queen’s University with his LL.B. and completing his Hon. B.A. in Psychology at the University of Waterloo and his M.A. in Psychology from the University of Guelph. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Waterloo Region Law Association.
Zack Schaffer completed his LL.B. at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England after completing his Hon. B.A. in Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo. Zack Schaffer was called to the Bar in 2016. He is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Waterloo Region Law Association. Zack also plays drums in a local rock band and can be seen in various venues from time to time.

Schaffer and Schaffer also welcome Sam Schaffer to the firm who has recently graduated with an LL.B from the University of Sussex in Brighton in the United Kingdom. Sam is also a graduate from the University of Waterloo with an Honours B.A. in Legal Studies and a minor in Psychology. Sam is presently working on his qualifications to be called to the Bar in Ontario. Sam is a car guy like his father, Gerry Schaffer.
We also wish Libby Brenneman well on her studies for her LL.B. at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom starting this fall. Libby is a graduate of the University of Guelph and has been Gerry Schaffer’s Law Clerk for the past 2 years. We at Schaffer and Schaffer will miss Libby immensely. Soccer in the United Kingdom will enjoy her greatly.
